Brand Identity · Art Direction · Digital Experience
Jhol is an Indian restaurant brand built around one simple idea- Indian food should feel as expressive, playful, and memorable as the culture it comes from.
We translated that personality into a visual identity that blends Desi Maximalism, Bollywood nostalgia, Indian pop culture, and contemporary design, creating a brand that feels familiar, but far from predictable.
The Idea
Desi, but make it iconic.
We built Jhol around a visual language that brings together:
🇮🇳 Indian pop culture
🎬 Bollywood nostalgia
✦ Desi maximalism
📰 Vintage Indian print aesthetics
🔤 Expressive typography
📦 Tactile packaging & merchandise
🎨 Playful illustrations and graphic details
The identity wasn't designed to simply look Indian.
It was designed to feel Indian.
From Strategy to Visuals
Every touchpoint was designed as part of the same experience.
From the logo and typography to tote bags, staff uniforms, cards, packaging, social content, and the website...each element carries the same personality while adapting to its context.
The result is a flexible identity that can be loud when it needs to be, and minimal when the product deserves the spotlight.
Product Meets Personality
Instead of covering every surface with graphics, we introduced Desi Maximalism through intentional details.
A tote becomes a fashion statement.
A staff cap becomes a brand touchpoint.
A T-shirt becomes a piece of pop culture.
A card becomes something worth keeping.
The brand lives beyond the restaurant.
From strategy to visuals, every detail works together to turn a brand into an experience worth remembering.
Jhol, Desi culture, served differently.
Jhol became more than a restaurant identity.
It became a visual world -- one that feels Indian, playful, nostalgic, contemporary, and unmistakably Jhol.
Good food. Filmy mood. Full Jhol 📸🍛
