Industry: HealthTech / Aging & Hearing Support
Status: Beta Testing
Award: 2024 Project of the Year – National Acoustic Laboratories (Australia)
Tech: FlutterFlow, Firebase, Google Maps API, Twilio, Custom CMS
Project Overview
HearWB is a mobile application built to support elderly Australians experiencing hearing loss. Developed in partnership with the National Acoustic Laboratories of Australia, the platform delivers easy-to-understand educational content to help users better understand their hearing health and take informed action.
InfiniteUp was contracted to build the app from the ground up using FlutterFlow, with a particular focus on accessibility, remote content management, and seamless mobile UX for aging populations.
Scope of Work
Design and build a mobile hearing education platform in FlutterFlow
Develop a custom CMS (also in FlutterFlow) for NAL to upload and manage health content
Integrate Google Maps API for clinic navigation
Set up Firebase backend for user sessions and engagement tracking
Enable Twilio-based mobile number verification for secure onboarding
Key Features
Custom FlutterFlow CMS for NAL NAL staff can log in via a web-accessible portal and upload new hearing-related educational content. The CMS supports PDFs, video modules, and multilingual resources, which appear in the app in real time—allowing researchers and clinicians to update content without developer support.
Content-First User Experience The app is designed as a library of hearing education, not a diagnostic tool. It includes explainer videos, downloadable guides, and interactive content targeted at elderly users, all delivered through a calming, accessible interface.
Verified Onboarding & SMS Reminders Twilio is integrated to confirm user identity and send gentle reminders tied to key content milestones or clinic visits.
Technical Stack
FlutterFlow for both the mobile frontend and web-based CMS
Firebase for auth, content delivery, and usage analytics
Twilio for SMS-based communication and onboarding flow
Recognition
HearWB was named 2024 Project of the Year by the National Acoustic Laboratories of Australia, recognized for its innovative, accessible design and real-world impact on hearing health education for seniors.
