The project ✨
Tim has been working in handiwork and hospitality for some of Austin's most high-profile families for quite some time. The bulk of his hours were contracted out by a top-tier house management company and he had quickly become a favorite because of his loyalty and quality work product. After two years, Tim was ready to take his business to the next level by branding himself in order to acquire his own clients.
Challenges 🚩
After discussing some of the challenges Tim was facing as a contractor – things like scheduling inefficiencies, cancellations, and delinquent invoices – I recommended we draft a rate card to:
a) create clarity about his availability
b) inspire accountability by establishing financial ramifications for last minute scheduling, cancellations, extended hours, etc.
The agreement 🤝
Timeline: 2 week turnaround (TAT) Budget: $1100 Deliverables: • Logo + tagline • Business card • Rate card
The brand ⚒️
I asked Tim to tell me about the pros to hiring him as opposed to another handyman or hospitality professional. We determined his key characteristics are: reliability, efficiency, and discretion. When you call him, he gets in and gets it done right...the first time, and keeps anything seen, learned, or heard to himself. Trust.
The aesthetic 🖤
To describe the vision he had for his brand, Tim showed me some interior design pics from Instagram that he felt represented his personal aesthetic. It was all dark, sleek, industrial spaces with: smooth concrete, slate grey, dark wood grain, blacks, clean lines and edges. That was all I needed to see.
The Logo 🧑🏽🎨
I took the concept of getting things "done" and the dark industrial aesthetic to conjure up this dope design.
Tagline ✍🏽
Furthering the concept of getting things done, efficiency, and reliability. We landed on the tagline: "Consider it done."
The simple statement instills trust and confidence. The type of people Tim works with value their time and energy - time is money and they don't want to worry about anything, they just want it done... Correctly. The first time. Consider it done.
Business Cards
I helped Tim set up a Calendly
Rate Card 💰
We did a little powwow to establish the various rates that felt right for him. Once we landed on the final rates, I put it all together on one shareable and printable club card.
Conclusion ✔️
Tim officially has his own brand and often shares with me the positive feedback he receives about his branding and business cards – fills me with joy every time 🥰 I wish him the very best on this venture and anything that comes next ♡
