🎯 Client's Needs

Lounge is a SAAS company aimed to help college students and campus managers organize events, clubs, and more. They approached me because they were a U.K. company transitioning to a U.S. based audience. Their UK Social Media Manager didn’t want to take on the new market and resigned, leaving them without someone to manage their platforms.
The founder told me their goals were to appeal to 2 new U.S. based audiences - Instagram/Tik Tok to attract their student user & LinkedIn to attract the campus administration who purchases the software. They also wanted to increase the engagement across these platforms. Lounge asked me to find a way to pivot their content to be more centered on their product without coming off as salesy.
✅ Proposed Solution
We agreed to run a trial month of social media managing where I would refine their content & continue posting to their pages. I would keep pace with their previous schedule to maintain a consistent presence while experimenting with a few changes to the themes of their content. My goal was to adjust posting times and locations to help the algorithms identify the new address of the company as well.
On Instagram and Tik Tok, our focus was to educate, entertain, and inspire the Lounge audiences while keeping the humorous tone the audience resonated with.
LinkedIn would make a slight pivot to showcase the company's expertise, travel to college campuses/conferences, and introduce the team to humanize their brand.

🛠️ Tools used on this project:

I used - Milanote for project coordination, Slack for team messaging, Google Meet for video conferencing, AirTable for Content Calendar Planning, Canva for creating LinkedIn graphics, CapCut for video editing, ChatGPT and Claude Ai for copy generating, Sprout social and Social Pilot for post scheduling.
The platforms we posted to included Tik Tok, Instagram & LinkedIn.

🗓️ The Process

Here's what it looked like working together-
We started with a deep dive consultation where we reviewed the mission & vision for their business, goals for the next 30-90 days, and what the current social media practices were. The founder worked to gather inspiration for what they wanted their pages to look like for each platform. We broke down the elements from each piece of inspo to find what we wanted to integrate into our strategy.
After we felt aligned in our vision for the future of their U.S. social platforms, I got to work reimagining the social media strategy for Lounge which included new content pillars and drafting up a content calendar with examples for the founder to review.
Once the preliminary content calendar draft was reviewed via airtable, I was ready to move on to the next stage of the process which involved recording content on campus by interviewing college students, editing videos on CapCut, and generating memes via Canva.
My next step was to add copy/hashtags and schedule posts via Sprout Social (the client's current software). After reviewing the needs of the client and discussing the desired features in a posting platform, we were able to determine Social Pilot was better suited for their needs. We switched and saved my client $149/month.
Once the posts had all final approvals and were scheduled to post, I also made sure I was responding to comments made on those posts, especially within the first hour of it going live, to help the algorithm increase the views and foster more engagement on Lounge's posts.
Each week, I met with leadership from Lounge to ensure our visions remained aligned throughout the process and kept my clients informed of my progress at each stage.

📈 Results

Despite working to transition the social pages from one country to another, we saw some metrics improve with our strategy.
Tik Tok post engagement increased 126%
LinkedIn impressions increased 53%
Our community outreach messages increased over 1000%
A total of 33 pieces of content were posted across platforms
At our month-end metric review meeting, my client let me know he was very happy with the tone, direction, and consistency of our posts. He advised we continue our strategy for the following month to continue the transition of their company's audience from being pushed to a U.K. audience to viewers in the U.S.A.
