Solace Specialty Tea





For Better, Slower Mornings

Solace is a specialty tea brand that asks us to trade our frantic, productivity-driven lives for slower living. They believe in the beauty of slowing down, cherishing each moment, and finding tranquility in the simple pleasures of life. With four ethically traded and certified organic flavors, there’s something for everyone looking to embrace mindfulness, relaxation, and the present moment.

When I set out to build the brand identity, packaging design style, and social presence for Solace, my goal was to showcase the peace and tranquility of slow living. This served as a guiding light in selecting sophisticated typography and a soothing color palette, being sure to incorporate a bright yellow - alluding to the morning sun. In developing their logo, I was inpsired by a scene of gazing out the window at the sunrise, a cup of warm tea in hand. The packaging itself takes inspiration from morning dew stuck to the window screen; it creates a refreshing mood surrounding the product.

In developing their social media and advertising presence, I was given the opportunity to take brand photos. Leaning on my previous inpsiration and the concept of a quiet morning, I photographed in the kitchen, using the morning light, and focusing on dew, shadows, and reflections. 

Solace now communicates their refreshing, quiet, slow-living aesthetic, while encouraging buyers to enjoy a cup of Solace tea on their slow-living journey.
