Situation

Snapmint, India’s leading Buy Now, Pay Later app, wanted to enhance user engagement by providing a more intuitive way for users to view and manage their credit limits.
The challenge was to design a credit page that would not only display the current credit limit but also encourage users to increase their limit through a gamified experience. The goal was to improve user interaction with the app while offering them more value.

Task

As the key UX designer on this project, my responsibility was to design a credit page that was both informative and engaging. The page needed to:
Clearly display the user’s current credit limit.
Provide actionable insights for users to increase their credit limit.
Incorporate gamification elements to make the experience more interactive and enjoyable.

Action

Requirement Documentation

Grasped the brief document thoroughly and finding pain points.
Got to the bottom of how users currently perceive and interact with their credit limits.
Analyzed the existing app and mapped out the user journey.

Ideation & Wireframing

Collaborated with the product team to brainstorm ideas for the gamified dashboard.
Developed wireframes that included key features like progress bars, badges, and personalized tips for increasing credit limits.
Ensured the design aligned with Snapmint’s brand guidelines and was user-friendly.

Prototyping

Worked on high-fidelity prototypes of the credit page and dashboard.
Conducted usability testing with a group of existing Snapmint users to gather feedback on the design.
Iterated on the design based on user feedback, making improvements to the gamification elements and the overall user flow.

Collaboration

Worked on detailed design documentation and conducted handoff meetings to clarify design details and interactions.

Result

The new credit page was successfully launched, resulting in a substantial increase in Higher Credit Limit due to rise in users actively seeking to increase their credit limits through the dashboard.
Users reported finding the new credit page more intuitive and enjoyable to use and improved user engagement contributing to a higher overall transaction volumes on the platform.
This project not only enhanced the user experience but also demonstrated the value of integrating gamification into financial products to drive user behavior.
