Jasmine Lilly

I opened Jasmine Lilly Bridal in 2020. The wheels were already well in motion by the time our country went into lock down for Covid 19 but I forged ahead with the plan, curating one-of-a-kind shopping experience complete with intentionally sourced gowns, a luxurious and relaxed space, indulgent details and thoughtful amenities. Our stunning collection of gowns, separates and accessories was thoughtfully curated to capture the imagination, inspire brides to shop intuitively., and expand their idea of what it means to be a bride.

Our first location in downtown Bozeman was found within a cozy 1920's home featuring wood floors, low ceilings and south facing windows. I started by building a temporary wall (we were renting) around the 70's stone fireplace to showcase our enormous mirror and painted the walls a creamy white.

I filled the space with earthy, minimalist furniture and textures including a warm leather couch, wool rug, and a custom piece of art from local fiber artist Meghan Purcell. With our tranquil and inviting space finished, we opened our doors to private appointments, ensuring a sense of safe and supportive intimacy.

In April 2022, JLB expanded into a new location and said goodbye our little downtown house. This new space was still under construction so I was able to design the layout to my own specifications. Now that we had been in business for a couple years I was armed with the experience necessary to build a space that would suite our growing needs while maintaining the comfortable intimacy we had become famous for.
This new space was different in almost every way with giant East facing windows, tall ceilings, a custom layout and built in clothing racks. I upgrade a few of our furniture pieces but kept some key elements including our fiber art centerpiece.
The biggest challenge was figuring out what to do with the enormous walls and tall ceilings. I was determined not to fill the space with unnecessary decor but it felt decidedly empty after our initial space, and I puzzled over how to add texture and depth to our giant northern wall. Eventually I decided to paint a mural of knobby magnolia branches in a warm sienna tone accented with luminous gold brush strokes. I kept the line work loose and organic, and painted intuitively with only a modest digital sketch of how it would look.
It ended up being the perfect solution, grounding the space in an essential way and infusing the JLB experience with character, creativity and whimsy.
