Building and Optimizing the RoamStay Platform

I led the redesign of RoamStay, a multi-platform property management solution (web & mobile) for property managers, residents, and vendors. By designing a user-centric MVP, applying agile design processes, and building a scalable design system, we achieved 40% faster UI development, 20% quicker service bookings, and significantly improved user experience across all platforms.

About RoamStay

As a UI/UX Designer, my responsibilities included:
Leading the design and development of five key platforms.
Designing the RoamStay MVP with a user-centric approach.
Implementing an agile and collaborative design process.
Building a design system to ensure visual consistency and improve design iteration efficiency.

Challenges & Problems

Before RoamStay, users faced several challenges:
Unstructured Property Management Processes → Property managers struggled to manage units, payments, and services.
Inconsistent User Experience → Residents and vendors had difficulty navigating and accessing services.
Limited Design Scalability → The absence of a unified design system led to UI inconsistencies and slowed product development.

Design Process & Solutions

1. Designing the RoamStay MVP

The first step was to develop an MVP focusing on essential features:
User Research & Persona Development → Understanding the needs of property managers, residents, and vendors.
Wireframing & Prototyping → Creating initial sketches and high-fidelity prototypes.
User Testing & Iteration → Conducting usability testing to ensure ease of use.

2. Implementing an Agile Design Process

To ensure alignment with business and technical requirements, I adopted an agile approach:
Sprint-based Iteration → Working in sprints for rapid iterations based on feedback.
Cross-functional Collaboration → Partnering with product teams, developers, and stakeholders.
Design Review & Feedback Loop → Conducting regular review sessions for continuous improvement.

3. Building a Design System

I initiated the creation of a design system to unify visual elements and interactions:
Consistent UI Components → Developing a reusable UI component library.
Guidelines for Development → Documenting design rules for efficient implementation.
Accelerated Design Iterations → Reducing redesign time with a modular system.

Results & Impact

After implementing the new design:
Improved design efficiency → UI development time reduced by 40% with the design system.
Faster checkout & transactions → 20% increase in service booking speed for residents.
Positive user feedback → 80% of property managers reported improved property management efficiency.
