Context

There was a need to strengthen the skills, leadership capacity, and professional growth of community managers across Africa. Community leaders lacked structured mentorship, accessible resources, and opportunities to learn from peers and experts.

Approach

I launched and led the Education Community Program, a structured mentorship initiative designed to empower community managers. I developed comprehensive toolkits, case studies, and mentorship guides while curating speaker sessions and balancing content to ensure a diverse, engaging festival experience. I applied program management best practices to coordinate sessions, track progress, and measure engagement outcomes.

Execution

Developed a resource hub with guides, toolkits, and case studies to support community leader development
Designed peer mentorship and expert-led training sessions to enhance leadership skills and career growth
Curated and balanced speaker sessions for virtual workshops, roundtables, and festivals to provide a mix of inspiration, practical skills, and thought leadership
Facilitated collaboration, continuous learning, and innovation across 240+ community leaders
Monitored engagement and participation, iterating on programming to maximize value

Results

Increased active engagement among community managers by 25%
Supported the development of 240+ community leaders across Africa
Hosted workshops and roundtables that strengthened leadership capacity and fostered collaboration
Delivered a well-balanced speaker lineup at festivals, ensuring diversity, relevance, and high audience satisfaction

Impact

The program established a scalable mentorship framework for community leaders, strengthening leadership skills, knowledge-sharing, and collaboration across Africa. It highlighted my skills in program management, content curation, and strategic planning for community growth.
