A Quick Overview

Coaching Catalyst is a boutique coaching and consulting firm that in their own words, is " in desperate need of a fresh start."

In less than a month, I was able to create copy that would speak to their audience, without sacrificing who they were and of course online visibility. The clients were able to see their concepts and formulas for success shaped and molded into words that conveyed their mission effortlessly.

Problem & Solution

Even though Coaching Catalyst had years of experience working with prestigious clients, their website copy did not truly reflect their professionalism nor expertise. I was able to take their concepts and success formulas through a transformative process. Shaping and molding each one into words that conveyed their mission effortlessly.
Goals/Requirements: • Condense 15 web pages into a cohesive 9-page website, with simple navigation. • Develop Brand Strategy and Brand Voice consistency. • Implement strong CTA's without sounding like a sales pitch.

My Process

Discovery
After diving deep into the business with the clients and stakeholders, I was able to develop a brand strategy and voice that introduced coaching catalyst, their services, the team, and of course testimonials from happy clients. With a simple navigation bar, visitors are able to quickly find exactly what they’re looking for.
2. Research
The clients and stakeholders wanted website copy that asked thought-provoking questions so that visitors could dip their toes in and find out more about what they do. I conducted market research and competitors. I noticed that the most successful consulting firms' websites, really placed an emphasis on personality. This allowed me to explain how the brand voice would set the tone for each page and create a space for Coaching Catalyst to showcase their talent.
3. Writing with Intention
As a power couple, Coaching Catalyst wanted to emphasize the importance of Black American success. As I wrote each page, I took careful consideration to create a real, meaningful connection with visitors, utilizing quotes from corporate black business pioneers and inspirational testimonials. This demonstrated just how vital it is to see successful and diverse individuals within the corporate world.

Results

The clients wanted something that could help visitors understand the “why” of what they do instead of just the “what”.
I was able to provide a cohesive structure between their approach, their success formula, and a preview of services. All three had previously been on separate pages, but together, they were now able to create trust in Coaching Catalysts' leadership formula and methods.
The "our services" page has a dedicated sub-page for each service with interactive flashcards, designed to have the visitor really ask themselves each question. This writing provided a preview of what it could be like to be coached in an immersive process.
Dropdown function for subcategories was also a headline design idea utilized so that visitors can avoid scrolling through information they don’t need, while still having easy access to exactly what they’re looking for.
An "about us" page that seamlessly flowed from the firm's strategy to its story, and a peak into who each person is. Previously, their bios lacked anything well-personal. Now each bio speaks directly to their individuality and unique talents within their firm.
Strong yet personal CTA's on every page leading visitors directly to the contact form.
SEO optimization.
Able to merge together previous client concept models that were not digestible for their target audience. Coaching Catalyst was extremely pleased with the way they were incorporated together.

"Maria was very professional, completed the job in a timely manner, and exceeded our expectations. We will certainly contact her again."

Takeaways

I was able to use my UX research and design background to help conceptualize several graphics such as flashcards, drop-down menus, and interactive formulas across each page. I learned to not be afraid to offer my ideas that could make copywriting reach an even higher level of impact.
I included 2 revisions for this project so that both the client and I were satisfied with every aspect of their brand strategy and voice. These two sessions allowed us to truly capture the Coaching Catalyst essence!
