Story behind the Branding

When I first dove into this project, I was thrilled by SHI’s mission: to foster a culture of safety that lets people work and explore with confidence. The challenge was to translate that into a logo, color palette, font, brand guidelines, strategy, and marketing policies that felt cohesive and bold. I started by imagining someone gearing up for a rugged hike or a demanding day at an industrial site—safety is their foundation, and SHI is their trusted partner. That’s when the idea hit: the logo needed to blend strength with adventure.

Thoughts behind the Brand Guidelines

SHI is all about empowering industrial professionals and outdoor adventurers with top-notch safety gear, and my job was to craft a visual identity that screamed trust, innovation, and durability—while feeling approachable and inspiring. Crafting the brand guidelines and strategy was like building a roadmap for SHI’s personality. I focused on consistency—ensuring every touchpoint, from product packaging to social media, feels unmistakably SHI.

Designer's Challenge

One of the biggest challenges was balancing the dual audience—industrial professionals and outdoor enthusiasts. The brand needed to feel rugged yet approachable, professional yet adventurous. Finding that sweet spot meant iterating on the logo to avoid being too "corporate" or too "outdoorsy." After a few sketches and client feedback rounds, we landed on a design that feels like a trusted companion for any journey. This project was a blast because it let me flex my creative muscles while aligning with a brand that’s making a real impact. SHI’s identity isn’t just about looking good—it’s about inspiring confidence and safety in every step. I hope you love this peek into the process as much as I loved bringing it to life!
