Project Overview

Viriditas Herbal Products offers a range of natural remedies including tinctures, dry herb preparations, topicals, and other medicinal foods and herbs. They sought a refreshed, user-friendly website that would directly reflect the core values of their business.
For this project, I aimed to design and develop a fully functional website that effectively communicated their brand and services. My main area of focus was the following pages: Appointments, Courses/Events, and Resources. All of these were required to be built on WordPress for ease of management and familiarity. I also structured and uploaded all content for the Courses section through ThriveCart Learn, creating a clear and engaging course outline that aligns with their educational offerings.

The Problem

Appointments: Viriditas sought to create a more user-friendly appointments section that highlights their clinicians and services, aiming to make booking appointments easier and more appealing to users. This enhancement would ultimately lead to an increase in online bookings.
Courses/Events: Viriditas aimed to improve its current Courses page by addressing key areas to enhance the user experience and course functionality. The objectives included streamlining the purchasing process, improving accessibility for all users, ensuring the longevity of course materials, facilitating easy distribution of notes, implementing quizzes for knowledge assessment upon course completion and awarding a certificate for proof of course completion.
Resources: Viriditas aimed to make its herbal knowledge widely accessible by transforming the Resources page into a more organized and user-friendly hub. The goal is to categorize content effectively and incorporate a search function, allowing users to explore and find specific information easily.

The Solution

Courses

Created a more user-friendly layout for the courses page. This will allow more courses to be featured in the future.
Implemented more calls-to-action which increased course sales.
Highlighted all of the courses available, so users can look through the course before being brought over to ThriveCart Learn.
ThriveCart Learn: Moved the courses from a digital PDF to ThriveCart Learn. On this platform, I designed the course images, created an outline for the courses, created an area for course downloads and streamlined the payment. This will help the usability and longevity for people who have already purchased the course, while also increasing sales of people interested in taking the course for the first time.

Appointments

Enhanced the visibility and accessibility of clinicians and their services by implementing a structured layout. Introduced dedicated sections and individual clinician pages, providing patients with a clearer, more intuitive way to explore provider details and offerings
Designed individual clinician pages to provide a comprehensive and engaging experience for patients. Each page highlights the clinician’s background, values, and services. This offers a deeper understanding of their expertise while maintaining a clear and user-friendly structure. A link to book appointments is also available through this page.

Resources

Structured the Resources section by organizing content into clearly defined categories, improving navigation and discoverability. Implemented a search function to allow users to quickly find relevant information without manually browsing through all resources. Additionally, integrated a sidebar tab on each Resource page for seamless access to the search tool and categories.
Added more visuals throughout the resources, to keep it engaging for users.

Takeaways

Working closely with Viriditas Herbal Products throughout the project allowed us to balance their vision with thoughtful design solutions. Clear communication was key to ensuring the website aligned with their core values while staying functional and user-friendly. By collaborating as a team, we were able to seamlessly integrate their educational offerings into the Courses section, provide easy access to appointments, and build a comprehensive resources page—all within the familiar structure of WordPress. This collaboration helped us create a website that not only reflects their company but also supports their clients' needs effectively.
