Caregiver's Coach: AI Caregiving App UX/UI

Caregiving is one of the most demanding roles a person can take on, and most tools built to support it feel designed for a hospital administration system rather than for someone managing a parent's health at 11pm. Caregiver's Coach is an AI powered mobile app providing real time guidance, health monitoring, and on-demand support. The design had to match the emotional register of the people using it: calm, clear, immediately useful.
Research shaped the priorities. I started with a UX audit: mapping competitor apps, analysing user personas, and finding where existing caregiving tools were failing the people actually using them. That set the direction for everything after it, deciding what to surface first, what to simplify, and where the interface needed to disappear entirely.
Two directions, a real choice. I developed two distinct visual approaches that both satisfied the core UX requirements, so the client had a genuine decision to make rather than a single direction to accept or reject. The selected style carried through into full high fidelity UI: polished visuals, consistent component behaviour, and a brand identity that holds across every screen.
Real-time access above everything. AI driven recommendations, health monitoring, and support tools are reachable without navigating layers. For a caregiver mid-task, the difference between two taps and five taps is not a detail, it is whether the app gets used at all. The information architecture was built around that.
Delivery. App store previews produced alongside the UI work to showcase core functionality for acquisition, plus a comprehensive UI kit compiled for consistency across future iterations and development handoff.
Timeline: 4 weeks. Year: 2024. I led research, UX, and UI.
