💬 Live Chat & Customer Support Training Recap
Continuing my hands-on journey into customer support tools, today’s session focused on live chat software — the systems businesses use to talk to customers directly on their website in real time.
I set out to learn Intercom, one of the industry’s leading platforms, but ran into a real-world limitation: Intercom’s onboarding process flags new signups for manual review and requires an existing, live business website before granting full access. Since I’m training independently without a live business yet, I pivoted to
Tawk.to, a free live-chat and helpdesk platform that let me practice the same core support workflow hands-on.
✅ What I Practiced
• ✅ Created a support account and a business “property” profile from scratch
• ✅ Diagnosed and fixed a mobile browser display issue by switching to desktop mode to access the full dashboard
• ✅ Activated the Live Chat module for real-time customer messaging
• ✅ Used the built-in “Simulate Chat” feature to generate a realistic customer conversation
• ✅ Joined a live chat conversation as the support agent
• ✅ Replied to a customer inquiry clearly and professionally, completing a full two-way support interaction
