About the project
Casella is an institution in the city. The restaurant has been serving authentic italian food since 1972. A rebranding was needed, due to the fact that the philosophy of the restaurant and the quality of the food didn’t match with their outdated visual identity.
The solution
The process started with a brand strategy workshop, where we discussed all about the restaurant, the market, the vision of the founder and where he wants the restaurant to be in the future. That was the basis for the creative direction of the project. The design needed to showcase the high quality selection of ingridients, the lifestyle and their aspiration to bring authentic italian food to the city.
The identity puts the food to the foreground, while still maintaining a level of distinctiveness. We created a bespoke typeface that is inspired by their old signage, combined it with premium print materials and an emotional & moody image style that showcases the lifestyle in the restaurant and the cooking process.
