With inconsistent core user experiences across our portfolio, a lack of visual designs, and the adoption of Carbon design language was not part of the roadmap.

Started off with some foundational work
Striving for a cohesive experience across customer touch points.
The challenge? We needed to move away from our old design language and fully embrace IBM Carbon. This would give us better consistency across our products and help us modernize key task flows.
Modernizing these legacy products felt like a mission impossible.
It wasn't easy. We had to get everyone on board – from design to development to product management. But with the support of our product leaders, I led a team of over 70 designers to make it happen. Together, we established core patterns for consistency across platforms and created a shared vision for adoption.

My mission as a Design Principal was to drive the IBM Design language adoption and bring unification across the AI Apps portfolio for all customer touchpoints, and it needed to be a collaborative effort between products and their differences.

Modernized AI Apps infrastructure fostered strong partnerships, streamlined costs, and improved collaboration.
Proudly led product teams to deliver 8 new patterns to the IBM Cloud and Cognitive library and 2 to Carbon, enhancing the user experience across the portfolio.
Finding new opportunities
Through research, audits, and iterations, I led the 70+ designers in the AI Apps portfolio. I played a crucial role in expanding key patterns within Carbon and Carbon for Cloud & Cognitive. We identified new opportunities for improvement and provided education along the way.
