Sound Design for Jono's 3D Animation

Jono's 3D Animation - Sound Design
Concept & Approach Designing the soundtrack for this animation was a rewarding challenge. Our aim was to craft a palette of sounds that could “talk” with the colors on screen while translating every motion into a clear auditory gesture. We focused on timbre-to-color pairing and dynamic envelopes that rise, ripple, and snap in sync with the visuals.
Influence & Signature Voice We drew inspiration from Alexander Panos, whose style morphs between technological textures and natural tones. That unique blend proved the ideal match for this project. A vocoder-treated layer became the signature voice—giving the moving character a distinctive presence and representing it in a convincingly real way.
Sonic Palette & Impact To deepen the sense of motion, we layered modular synth pads that ebb and flow with the animation, adding breadth and continuity. For accents, we used tight low-frequency bass hits to underline impacts and transitions, grounding the more fluid elements with weight and punch.

We built sounds that speaks to the animation’s colors and mirrors its motion; fused tech textures with organic tones, led by a vocoder “voice” for the character
