Olumba Care — Web Design, Rebrand & Framer Development Platform: Framer
Timeline: 3 weeks

OVERVIEW

Olumba Care is a domiciliary care provider serving Southwark, Lambeth, and the surrounding London boroughs, delivering live-in, respite, domestic, and rapid 24-hour care in clients' own homes. The business is built on a person-centred ethos: dignified, empathetic support that helps vulnerable people stay comfortable and independent at home.
The existing website didn't reflect that standard of care. It looked dated, read inconsistently, and failed to convey the warmth and trust a family needs to feel before handing over the care of a loved one. Olumba Care needed a complete redesign and rebrand, a site that felt as reassuring, professional, and human as the service itself.

THE CHALLENGE

The project had three distinct layers.
The first was trust. In home care, the website is often a family's first contact at an emotionally difficult moment. It had to feel warm, calm, and credible instantly, and signal professional legitimacy (association membership, trained carers, clear process) without feeling clinical or cold.
The second was clarity across multiple services. Four separate care types, live-in, respite, domestic, and care within 24 hours, each needed its own dedicated page, clearly explained, without overwhelming an anxious reader or blurring the distinctions between them.
The third was tone and voice. The old copy didn't carry the empathy the brand is built on. Every headline, service description, and reassurance needed rewriting to sound human, dignified, and confident, the voice of a provider you'd trust with your parent.

WHAT WAS BUILT

Full redesign and rebrand — A complete visual overhaul from the previous website: a warmer, more premium identity with a calm, trustworthy palette, clear typographic hierarchy, and imagery that centres real human connection over generic stock.
Complete homepage — Hero, services overview, testimonial, about section, process, FAQ, "why choose us," and association recognition, structured to move an anxious visitor smoothly from worry to a single clear action: get in touch.
Four dedicated service pages — Live-in Care, Respite Care, Domestic Care, and Care within 24hrs, each on its own URL with tailored copy explaining exactly what the service involves and who it's for.
Animated pill motif on service pages — A custom capsule/pill animation running through each service page, a subtle visual cue that evokes healthcare and care-giving, adding warmth and movement while reinforcing the medical-care context without resorting to cliché.
Full copywriting — Every line rewritten from scratch: hero messaging, the four service descriptions, the person-centred mission statement, process steps, and a complete FAQ answering the real questions families ask (which service is right, carer training, customising care, arranging 24-hour support).
Structured care-journey section — A clear three-step process (get in touch, free care assessment, tailored care plan) that removes uncertainty and shows families exactly what happens next.
FAQ system — Seven of the most common care questions answered directly on the page, reducing friction and pre-empting the concerns that stop people from enquiring.
Responsive build — Fully responsive across desktop, tablet, and mobile, with the layout and animations tuned to stay smooth and calm on every device.

KEY DECISIONS

Led with reassurance, not features. Home care buyers are usually stressed and time-poor. The site was structured to build emotional trust first, warmth, dignity, real faces, then explain services, rather than opening with a feature list. In this sector, feeling precedes information.
Gave each care type its own page. Rather than compressing four services into one crowded section, each got a dedicated page. This keeps the messaging focused for the reader and gives each service its own indexable URL for search, so someone searching specifically for "live-in care" or "respite care" lands on exactly the right page.
Used the pill animation as an emotional cue, not decoration. The animated pills were chosen deliberately to signal "healthcare" at a glance and add gentle life to the service pages, while being kept subtle enough never to undercut the calm, dignified tone the brand depends on.
Rewrote the copy entirely. The previous wording didn't match the quality of care being offered. Rather than lightly edit, every line was rewritten to carry genuine empathy, because in this market the words are the service until the first phone call.

OUTCOME

A complete redesign, rebrand, and rebuild delivered: a warm, trustworthy, fully responsive website with a rewritten voice, four dedicated service pages, a clear care journey, and a healthcare-cued animation system, all in.
The new site reflects the standard of care Olumba Care actually provides: calm, dignified, and human. Where the old website undersold the business, the new one earns trust the moment a worried family arrives, and points them clearly toward the one step that matters: getting in touch.
