How do you design a journey where taste doesn’t just get experienced, but determines the outcome?
For Martell, the challenge wasn’t just showcasing ingredients.
It was turning sensory exploration into something that could guide a personal decision.
A journey that moves from sensing to interpreting, and ultimately to a personalised dining experience.
Challenge
Taste is subjective and difficult to articulate.
The challenge was not just to present ingredients, but to structure an experience where individual preferences could be revealed, captured, and translated into a meaningful outcome.
Flow
The journey unfolds through progression.
Explore → Sense → Understand → Match → Experience
Visitors begin by exploring the different notes of Martell cognac through sensory environments.
As they move through the space, they start to recognise and understand their own preferences.
These preferences are then used to match them with a specific chef, leading into a personalized dining experience.
Experience
The experience unfolds as a guided sequence where each interaction reveals a layer of personal preference.
Entry — Guests enter a series of interconnected rooms, each holding a part of the journey. Progression is not given, but unlocked.
Exploration — Through augmented reality, visitors search for and uncover hidden clues embedded within the space, using them to move forward.
Sensing — A sensory room isolates the different notes of Martell cognac, allowing guests to distinguish and select what resonates with them.
Mapping — Every interaction contributes to a growing map of their taste profile, built piece by piece as they progress.
Matching — At the final threshold, this profile resolves into an assigned chef, revealed as the door opens.
Experience — The journey continues beyond the exhibition, where guests select a date and return for a dining experience shaped by their own preferences.
Sensory room making each ingredients the star by itself. A whiff of aroma followed by an audiovisual experience.

Interactive Dining Experience
Role
I worked across the narrative and interaction flow, designing how sensory exploration is translated into a structured journey, and how each interaction contributes to a final personalised outcome.
Outcome
The experience shifts from choosing a menu based on preference
to understanding what pairs best with individual taste.
What begins as exploration
leads to a more informed and personalised dining experience.
