Migration to Azure Cloud for Office Flexibility & Efficiency

As the implementation engineer, I managed the migration of a business’s entire on-premises Windows Server environment to Azure, supporting their goals of reducing hardware dependency and enabling a potential office relocation. This involved moving four servers and key business applications to Azure, along with firewall configuration adjustments for enhanced security.

1. Azure Environment Configuration

- Collaborated with an external IT provider to establish a secure Azure framework, pre-configuring servers for seamless integration.

2. Service and Application Migration

- Migrated all critical services and line of business applications to Azure, ensuring continuity of business operations without disruption.

3. Network Security Setup

- Configured and aligned firewalls with the new Azure-based infrastructure to maintain secure access and data integrity.

4. Decommissioning & Documentation

- Safely decommissioned the remaining on-premises servers and provided thorough documentation of the entire process for the client’s IT team.

The business now operates with greater flexibility, scalability, and reduced physical infrastructure, enabling smoother relocations and long-term cost savings.
