Sharlie Faye Photography: Brand + Web Design

Sharlie Faye is a wedding and boudoir photographer and content creator living and creating in the Atlantic Provinces of Canada, but available worldwide.

After nearly a decade of working within the photography industry, Sharlie Faye had amassed a large following on Instagram and was consistently booked out two years in advance for her spectacular wedding, elopement, and boudoir photography services. It was time for her to jump into a new brand that reflected the personality, joy, and style she infuses her work and online presence with.

It was important that this new brand brought forth some reminders of where this business began. We decided to use a cherry blossom (which was included in her old logo) as part of her visual identity as an ode to how far she's come.

As a photographer that shoots frequently outdoors - we chose to include colours that were seen frequently in nature, especially in the Maritimes of Canada. When designing for photographers it's always a priority that their brand colours will compliment their shooting environments and their editing styles well.

Included in all my branding projects are social media templates that are ready to use, and editable on Canva. Understanding that most businesses don't have the resources to use professional design software, it's important to me that my clients are left with branding assets that they are comfortable using and provide real value, without adding the burden of ongoing design or software fees.

Sharlie takes a lot of pride in giving her clients the best experience possible - and part of that is creating excitement when she delivers her physical products to clients (photobooks, prints, custom USBs, etc.) This custom wrapping paper allows her brand's "wow" factor to shine at every stage of her client experience.

Part of my holistic branding process is to look ahead, so I can design for the business my clients are building, rather than just the one they currently operate. Sharlie Faye has dreams of eventually creating a guided planner for photographers under her own name, and I love including mock-ups of these dreams so they feel more real and achievable to my clients once they are in their new brand. The sky is the limit.
