Overview

Now Bank is a Mexican neobank that launched its app (iOS and Android) in early 2024. As a designer, I was involved in the project from the very beginning, even before a single line of code was written. In my early involvement with Now Bank, I was part of the UI design team responsible for creating a design system for both iOS and Android that is scalable and future-proof. The design system was meticulously crafted in Figma, utilizing components and variants, along with detailed documentation to ensure it is easily understandable for designers and the entire organization.

What is Axolote?

Axolote is the comprehensive design system developed for Now Bank's app. It serves as the foundation for both iOS and Android platforms, ensuring a cohesive and seamless user experience across devices. Crafted meticulously in Figma, Axolote leverages a library of scalable components and variants, paired with detailed documentation to facilitate ease of use and consistency throughout the organization.

How Axolote Helps Now Bank

Axolote significantly enhances Now Bank's ability to deliver a consistent and high-quality user experience. By providing a unified design language and reusable components, it accelerates the development process, reduces redundancy, and ensures that new features and updates maintain visual and functional coherence. This leads to a more reliable and engaging app experience for users, fostering trust and satisfaction.

What Axolote Promotes

The Axolote design system promotes efficiency, collaboration, and innovation within Now Bank. By standardizing design elements and workflows, it enables designers and developers to work more effectively together, minimizing misunderstandings and streamlining communication. Typography

The Axolote Design System employs distinct typography choices for iOS and Android to ensure a seamless and native user experience. These typefaces were selected for their readability, versatility, and ability to provide a cohesive look across different platforms.

Consistency and Readability

The choice of San Francisco Pro Text for iOS and Roboto for Android ensures optimal readability and a native look and feel on their respective platforms. Both typefaces are chosen for their clarity and versatility, making the user interface clean, modern, and accessible.

Design Harmony

Using these typefaces consistently across the Axolote Design System helps maintain a harmonious visual experience, ensuring that users have a seamless and intuitive interaction with the Now Bank app.
