Osity is an iPhone app for people who want a calmer, more intentional way to learn. Instead of a feed that pulls users into a doomscroll, it lets them search any topic that sparks curiosity, explore quick insights and deep dives, and save what matters into a private, organised vault.
The Challenge
The modern web rewards passive scrolling, and the surface people use to discover ideas is the same one that hijacks their attention.
The founder wanted discovery and intention in the same product, without gamifying engagement at the cost of trust.
It had to feel native to iOS and look beautiful.
What We Built
A clean discovery feed driven by vector search, personalised but boundaried so users never get trapped in a single-topic loop.
A topic explorer that goes from a quick summary to a long-form deep dive.
A personal vault for saved ideas that syncs across iPhone, iPad and Mac through CloudKit.
No infinite scroll, no streaks and no notification spam, by design.
How We Did It
Design. Heavy investment in typography, motion and the reading experience so it feels like a well-edited magazine.
Build. Native Swift and SwiftUI client, Supabase backend for topic indexing, summarisation and curation.
Sync. Per-user vault syncing with CloudKit.
Outcome
Sessions feel calm and useful instead of draining.
Early traction with exactly the audience it was designed for, people who learn on purpose.
Positioned as the antidote to feed-driven content apps.
