YumBui emerged from a bold vision: to bridge millennia of Chinese Baijiu tradition with the vibrant beat of today’s seltzer scene. This concept project case study unfolds the journey of crafting a brand that speaks 'cheers' across generations and cultures
Brand Philosophy and Design Decisions
Centred around the Cantonese cheer 'Yum Bui,' our brand philosophy celebrates the fusion of ancient heritage and modern revelry. Every design decision, from the logo to the packaging, was a toast to this cultural amalgamation.
In the realm of design, we've stripped back to simplicity, mirroring Baijiu's transparency and distilled essence, while the colour palette bursts forth in a toast to the spirit's vibrant reincarnation. Each hue is a deliberate choice, representing the zest of our flavours, crafted to captivate the tastes of the millennials and Gen Z—a demographic that toasts tradition and sips on the edge of innovation. With Yum Bui, every 'cheer' is an ode to heritage, a celebration of the present, and a welcoming of the future.
Packaging Design
Yum Bui's packaging is a tapestry of tradition and trend. Each can’s design captures the essence of its flavour - from the zestful 'Electric Dragon' to the opulent 'Longan Luxe' - while carrying the signature touch of the ancient Baijiu bottles.
E-commerce Strategy
Our e-commerce strategy was crafted to distill the YumBui experience into every click. The website isn't just a marketplace; it's a virtual bar where history meets hype, and every visit feels like a gateway to festivities.
Product Photography
With the cutting-edge DALL-E 3, YumBui's product photography transcends mere pictures; they are a curated exhibit of our seltzer's soul. Each shot is meticulously composed, allowing the fruits to play a supporting role, not overshadowing but elevating the allure of the can's design. These images are a dialogue between the purity of Baijiu and the untamed joy of its fruit pairings, each telling a story of flavour and tradition. It's a visual symphony where the fruit's vivid colours and textures harmonize with the sleekness of the cans, echoing Yum Bui's modern take on an age-old classic.
