| THE BRIEF |

8 Simple Rules is a financial advisory firm that operates on a fee-based model. The initial concept for their logo was a depiction of a cattle brand using the abbreviation 8SR. However, the details provided were limited, leaving room for interpretation. The primary challenge lay in refining the logo while preserving its original essence and translating it into the new design, while fitting the financial landscape the logo will be seen in.






| THE SHIFT |

After an extensive and meticulous process, I made a deliberate choice in selecting a color pattern that would not only embody the minimalist aesthetic desired by the client, but would also stay true to the original intent of the logo. The incorporation of elements reminiscent of a Cattle Brand using 8SR with an updated minimalist-modern aesthetic was a key consideration. Editing the number eight to double as the letter S was an additional hurdle that was a welcoming challenge I overcame after a myriad of iterations. Furthermore, I took into account the future use of the logo mark for apparel, ensuring that the chosen color scheme is versatile and adaptable for both formal financial settings and casual attire outside the office.
