The Brief
Build a brand and website from scratch to help Cape Town food lovers discover the city’s top dining spots. The goal was to create an intuitive, visually rich restaurant directory that turns the hunt for the perfect meal into an enjoyable experience.
The Insight
Cape Town’s culinary scene is world-class, but finding good restaurant recommendations was a bit of a headache—from outdated blogs and misleading reviews to clunky filters. We set out to make a dining guide as vibrant and satisfying as the city’s food culture.
The Idea
Why not build our own guide?
What started out as a casual idea sparked over a cup of coffee grew into an exciting project: Best Restaurants in Cape Town, a slick, user-friendly platform that makes restaurant hunting effortless. With a passionate team of designers, developers, and food enthusiasts, we’ve put together a digital experience as satisfying as a five-course meal.
The Execution
We started with the logo—a playful nod to Cape Town’s Table Mountain. The logo features a chair seated at the mountain, giving us a symbol of the city’s food culture. In Cape Town, you can bet that every meal is going to be an experience.
For the color palette, we turned to psychology and local inspiration. Appetite-boosting red and yellow met Cape Town’s fresh, natural vibes with Engulfed in Light, a calming beige, and Cornflower Blue for a modern, approachable feel.
Typography was equally intentional. We paired Alosia Sans and Manrope to strike the perfect balance of elegance and readability. Their clean, contemporary lines mirrored the site’s polished yet approachable personality.
Web design came next. We obsessed over navigation, testing multiple wireframes to achieve a layout as smooth as a perfectly blended soup. Intuitive filters, seamless search functionality, and a responsive design ensured users could find their perfect dining spot with ease.
Post-launch, we adapted to unexpected user behavior. The “Specials” page emerged as the star, so we pivoted, turning it into a central feature. This flexibility reinforced our commitment to creating a platform shaped by user needs.
The Result
With a solid brand identity and an intuitive website in place, Best Restaurants in Cape Town is now a go-to guide for foodies. The platform’s clean design, intuitive interface, and SEO strategy ensure it ranks high on search engines and delights users.
From locals to tourists, everyone has a better way to discover Cape Town’s best dining experiences—no more guesswork, just great meals.
