The brief
Future Government Institute is an independent global institute that assesses, benchmarks, and builds digital government capability — backed by 250 Fellows across 45 countries. As a relatively new organisation with an ambitious repositioning, they needed a brand built from the ground up. It had to feel credible to government bodies worldwide, project authority and professionalism, and be designed to last.
The approach
The organisation's core purpose — measuring and progressing government digital capability — became the foundation of the visual language. A grid-based system combined with shifting scales of dots was developed to symbolise transformation, measurable progression, and growth. The approach gave the brand a sense of structure and permanence while remaining flexible enough to scale across different applications.
The same visual logic extended naturally into the rating system design — a suite of four distinct logos representing each level of government digital capability. Rather than treating these as a separate design challenge, the underlying system made them feel like an organic part of the same identity, without being repetitive.

Working with Rani was a pleasure. She is a fantastic communicator who is willing to explore the limits of creativity to develop bold and innovative aesthetics. The collaboration was seamless and highly constructive.
