Case Study: As a branding designer, I had the pleasure of collaborating on Keiko Furoshiki’s packaging design. The concept for the packaging design was inspired by the delicate and captivating process of a flower blooming, where each layer of the packaging revealed more of the product’s hidden beauty. This approach was designed to engage the senses and evoke a sense of wonder, much like witnessing nature’s creations unfold.
I carefully crafted each element to mirror the gradual awakening of nature. The outer layer, reminiscent of protective sepals, encased the treasure within. As one explored the packaging, the flaps and tabs mirrored the soft unfolding of petals, gently unveiling the surprise inside.
The chosen color palette and textures were intentionally selected to evoke the soft, velvety feel of a flower petal, creating a tactile experience that complemented the visual aesthetic. Subtle floral notes were even infused into the packaging material, enhancing the sensory journey and strengthening the connection to nature’s beauty.
