How I helped Desygner rank #1 on Google SERPs using BOFu content

What they wanted

When I started working with Desygner, they already had detailed blogs, mostly ToFU content giving lots of information about the business.

But they wanted more BoFu and MoFu content focused on getting more sign-ups and more conversions.





‍What I did



  • First, I fell in love with Desygner😍. 

I signed up for the free version of the app and I started a product tour. I explored the features of the product including those for enterprises and SMBs. I made sure to note interesting features I'd love to write about and all the questions I had.

Next, I had to study the Desygner target audience.

Who was their ideal primary, secondary, and tertiary audience?

What kind of content did they like reading?

What was the user behaviour of their audience?

What pain points did they have, and how could I use BoFu content to answer their questions?

After researching and understanding Desygner, I began my first project.

Joanna gave me a brief for my first blog post.

What is one of my most memorable blogs for Desygner?

I absolutely loved writing for the Desygner blog and I got a lot of glowing reviews.

However, one of the most challenging and interesting projects I worked on was the blog post on choosing the right PDF editor and 8 features to look out for.

It was memorable because I had to interview some members of the Desygner team to get their expert opinions on PDF features and how to choose one.

I interviewed the CTO, Ignacio Diaz.

I asked questions about the product's vision, the target customers, and the primary differentiation of Desygner's PDF editor from other Adobe alternatives.



I used the interview insights to write the blog post and when it was published, I couldn't be any more proud of my work.





What were the results?

The Desygner blog posts I wrote did so well on the SERPs and ranked for their titles as well as the long and short-tail keywords they were written for.

For example, the blog I wrote on How to choose the right PDF editor and 8 features to look out for, ranked #1 on Google SERPs for the specific title and many variations of the title. It even captured a featured snippet for the question.

It was among the first ten SERP results for questions like:

How to choose a pdf editor

How to choose the best pdf editor

The right pdf editor

Features to look out for when choosing a pdf editor








It also led to lots of traffic to the website and conversions.🤯

In the end, it was a great experience, I learned a lot in the process and gave it my best. I got bylines for some pieces and had a great relationship with my teammates.





I went ahead to write BoFu content for Desygner on my medium blog. It was my list of the best design apps in 2022 based on my personal experience using the Desygner app for my content creation.

Yes, that's how much I loved the product.😊💕💕

It was a beautiful piece and was hands down one of my most in-depth and detailed pieces of 2022.🤯
