What did they want?



The Smarketers Hub Blog is a publication sharing valuable resources to help early-stage and mid-level marketers level up their careers with access to best-in-class marketing tools, strategy deep dives, case studies, and more.

Their goal is to support marketers in achieving successful careers and showcasing the brilliance of African marketers. The guest post program was created to amplify diverse voices in the industry.





What I did:

The meta description of my post.

Chose the best blog topic

Knowing the goal of the Smarketers blog, I made sure to choose a topic that would impact marketers and prepare them for the future of marketing in 2023. The title of the blog was: The Best Content Marketing Strategies for 2023 from the Experts.

Reached out to SMEs

Beyond my personal experience with strategies, I reached out to experts of various B2B SaaS companies.

I used the HelpaB2Bwriter platform as well as the Marketing Women slack channel I'm a member of.

Initially, I wanted to use texts for the interviews, but I went ahead to organize audio meetings, video conferences, as well as conducted personal research on their businesses.

I analyzed the content marketing strategies they'd used for their businesses to buttress their quotes.

F‍or the five strategies that I highlighted in the blog post, I included examples of the strategies in use.

Using insights from Jenna Calderara, content marketing manager at Rockbot, to Daniel, the PurpleFire CEO, I made sure to illustrate every strategy using:

  • Screenshots
  • Relevant statistics
  • Step-by-step guides
  • Animated illustrations.

What happened post-pitch?

My congratulatory email came in a while after I sent my pitch. She was going to edit the work a bit and let me know when it was ready to share with the 3500+ subscribers of the Smarketers Hub blog.

I was excited and sent in my bio and headshot to go with the piece.

The blog was repurposed as a carousel with the important points highlighted for Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter.





tldr; Smarketers Hub published one of my most exciting projects. I loved writing and interviewing 8 industry experts for the blog and I love the beautiful relationships that fostered.

I built long-term networks, received intelligent insights, and learned new things in the process.
