Project overview

I joined the team on this ambitious project at Segura as a Design Lead. I say ambitious because the project incorporated designing every aspect of the experience from the ground up. The company itself, Segura, was also being built, in parallel with the design. From the landing page and branding to the purchase and claims experiences, every detail had to be carefully designed and considered to ensure launch with success.

Context

The project started as an initiative of a giant on the traditional insurance market, because of a strategic necessity to prevent obsolescence, based on analyses projecting market losses for traditional players in the face of digitalization.
Key learnings:
Traditional insurance models in Brazil still rely on face-to-face interactions;
Complex terminologies from the sector do not resonate with younger generations;
Brazilians do not perceive the value of life insurance due to the way banks offer it to clients.
Segura have now emerged as one of the most emblematic cases of digital transformation in the Brazilian insurance sector, with a combination of technological agility with a customer-centric approach. Segura has established itself as one of the largest insurtechs in Latin America, challenging traditional models through a 100% digital platform.
