I worked with the Beyond team as Product Design Lead to reimagine the biggest player in the online review business to help them stand out in a highly-saturated digital landscape.
Reviewed.com is known for creating high-quality, extremely thorough reviews. To put things into perspective: when testing vacuum cleaners, they make their own dirt to ensure proper suction granularity. They came to us to refresh their brand and digital presence to communicating this scientific & unapologetically nerdy personality while making discovery simple and enjoyable.
To better understand Reviewed's target audience, we went to the source. We used a combination of surveys, 1:1 interviews, and guided usability sessions to better understand their user segments, including their specific needs and goals as it relates to product reviews and purchases.
To keep a website with so much content manageable for a user to navigate, we created a structured, dynamic content system that could be mixed and matched throughout the website to suit a variety of content, user, and business needs.
We also endeavored to reorganize their site's navigation architecture, using user data as well as industry standards to simplify the site's structure and make finding what you need a breeze.
I worked directly with our visual designers to develop product and brand in unison. We characterized this new brand persona as “your nerdy friend who knows what’s up.” The new Reviewed brand is bold and colorful, with an approachable personality, while ensuring the brand was perceived as professional and modern.
