Product: Garrden – A mobile app for relationship wellness
Industry: Lifestyle / Social Well-being
Objective: Design an experience that helps people actively care for their relationships through gentle prompts and visual progress.
Scope: Product Strategy, UX Research, Interaction & Visual Design, Prototyping
The Challenge
In a world of endless notifications and social feeds, personal relationships often slip through the cracks. Garrden wanted to change that by:
Encouraging consistent, intentional contact with loved ones.
Making the process light, playful, and non-judgmental, not another to-do list.
Representing relationships visually in a way that felt warm and rewarding.
The Solution
Core Concept
A “Garden” as a metaphor for relationships:
Solo Garden: For family and close friends.
Shared Gardens: For friend groups, clubs, or communities.
Each contact is a flower that blossoms when nurtured and withers without attention.
Key Features
Timed Actionable Prompts: Gentle reminders like “Send a quick check-in” or “Plan a coffee catch-up.”
Swipe to Nurture: Completing a prompt is as easy as a single swipe — rewarding and low-friction.
Relationship Streaks: Encourage consistency and celebrate effort over perfection.
Invite & Share: Users can invite friends into a shared garden for mutual support.
Visual Progress: Blossoming vs. withering flowers provide a tangible, empathetic view of relationships.
Design Approach
Focused on emotional design — warm colors, organic shapes, and subtle animations to evoke care and growth.
Balanced playfulness with clarity to keep the experience purposeful.
Prototyped swipe actions and streak feedback to ensure they felt satisfying and motivating.
Designed for accessibility and inclusivity, using readable typography and friendly language
