A prefabricated-house manufacturer wanted a practical route towards greater factory automation. Custom house layouts, mixed hardware and multiple production stages made the problem larger than choosing a robot.
My contribution
I helped audit the existing production workflow, map an automated version of the process and assess available research and commercial solutions. The work produced an actionable roadmap for software and automation development.
Architecture priorities
The roadmap addressed information flow between production stages, integration across robots, motors, sensors and PLCs from different manufacturers, and maintainability as order patterns changed. A digital-twin framework supported reusable modelling of the processes.
Delivered capability
The client received a workflow audit, an automation roadmap and a framework for developing the internal processes. This was a planning and architecture engagement; the deliverable was a concrete basis for implementation, rather than a claim that an autonomous factory had already been deployed.
