THE IDEA:

The inspiration for this project originated from a robot character I previously created in Framer for a personal endeavor. I decided to transform this character into a 3D model, bringing it to life with enhanced detail and animation.

DETAILS:

This project involved a comprehensive process that included modeling, texturing, and animation. The entire project was completed over a span of approximately 10 hours. Based on this timeframe, the estimated cost for a similar project would be around $500.

Execution:

The project was developed using Spline, a powerful tool for creating 3D web experiences. The transformation from a 2D character to a 3D model involved several key steps:
3D Modeling: The initial step was to create a detailed 3D model of the robot character. This involved designing the character's structure, ensuring that it maintained the essence of the original 2D design while adding depth and dimension.
Texturing: Once the 3D model was complete, the next step was to apply realistic materials and textures. This process added a layer of realism to the character, making it visually appealing and lifelike.
Animation: The final step was to animate the character. This involved creating smooth and engaging animations that brought the robot to life. The animations were designed to be cool and dynamic, enhancing the overall appeal of the character.

Interactive Animation:

One of the standout features of this project is the interactive animation that responds to the user's mouse position. As users move their mouse across the screen, the robot character reacts in real-time, creating an engaging and immersive experience. This interactivity adds a layer of depth to the animation, making it more interactive and enjoyable for users.

Outcome:

The result was a highly detailed and animated 3D robot character that retained the charm of the original 2D design. The project showcased the capabilities of Spline in creating realistic and engaging 3D models. The cool animations, realistic materials, and impressive 3D modeling made this project a standout example of what can be achieved with the right tools and creativity.
