Background

The Sunny Teriyaki website design project aimed to improve a teriyaki business's online presence and ordering experience. The final design was implemented and developed on Wix.

Audit

I thoroughly analyzed the site to understand how the business can improve its online presence. This helped me identify any issues with the site that could be improved.

Research

To better understand the customer's ordering experience, I conducted five competitive analyses, 25 surveys, and 6 interviews.

😶 They order online to not talk to people

📲 They don't want to download delivery apps to order

Information Architecture

With the insights I gathered from user research, I created a site map to envision how the redesigned site would work and help organize the pages for better structure.

Wireframing

After creating the sitemap, I decided to redesign the website to increase customer engagement. So, I began wireframing on mobile devices because customers mostly use their mobile devices to order online rather than desktops. This will be used for usability testing to see how customers interact with the site.

Logo design and UI kit

After I gathered my usability testing insights, my client requested I redesign the logo to attract customers, make the restaurant more memorable, and have a cleaner and more modern look. So, I redesigned the logo as requested and created a UI kit to create consistency across platforms. I was going for the brand's warm and welcoming look and feel.

Results

This resulted in an increased user satisfaction rate by 29% and a reduced bounce rate by 26% on the landing page. The client and customers were happy with the site.
