Self-therapy mobile app design

Oleksandr Fesenko

The client approached us with the idea of building a self-therapy app designed for people who want to track their mental health, reflect on emotions, and practice mindfulness on their own. Their goal was to create a simple, safe space where users could journal their feelings, access calming exercises, and gain insights into their emotional state over time.
One of the main challenges was designing an interface that felt non-clinical and friendly, while still being informative and reliable. We also had to make sure users could easily understand and engage with the app without feeling overwhelmed — especially those who were emotionally vulnerable.
We ran several UX interviews to understand user behavior and tested multiple design versions before landing on a soft, minimal UI with clear flows and gentle animations. The final product allows users to journal with guided prompts, visualize mood trends, and set small goals for emotional well-being.
