Project Overview:
Hongyun Tea is a premium Chinese red tea brand identity concept created to express warmth, tradition, craftsmanship, and modern luxury.
The goal of this project was to build a complete visual identity system for a red tea brand that feels deeply connected to Chinese tea culture while still looking refined, modern, and suitable for premium ecommerce, packaging, and digital brand experiences.
The final identity combines deep Chinese red, antique gold, warm cream tones, traditional seal-inspired marks, mountain illustrations, red tea leaves, elegant typography, and luxury packaging compositions to create a brand that feels rich, calm, cultural, and memorable.
Design Challenge:
Many tea brands use common green, beige, or natural color palettes, but this project needed a stronger and more emotional direction.
The challenge was to create a red tea brand that looked premium and authentic without feeling too decorative, too festive, or too traditional. I wanted the brand to feel cinematic, warm, and elegant — like a modern luxury tea house inspired by ancient Chinese heritage.
Creative Direction:
The visual concept is based on “Modern Chinese Red Tea Luxury.”
I used deep wine red as the main brand color to represent warmth, richness, and red tea depth. Antique gold was added to create a luxury feeling, while warm cream and paper textures helped balance the identity with softness and tradition.
The logo mark was inspired by Chinese seal stamps and the character “红,” connecting the brand directly to red tea and Chinese cultural heritage. Mountain illustrations, red leaves, and subtle traditional patterns were used across the packaging system to create a strong visual story.

Packaging Design:
The packaging was designed to feel premium, collectible, and gift-ready. I created a visual system that works across tea tins, paper boxes, shopping bags, gift packaging, and brand collateral.
The red tea tin uses a deep wine-red surface with gold logo details and subtle mountain illustrations near the base. The cream-colored box creates contrast and gives the brand a refined traditional feeling. The shopping bag uses a darker red tone with gold details, making the full packaging system feel consistent and luxurious.
