Honey, bees and a dawn ritual hidden behind a mountain view
Concept case study by STAY → STORY. Alder & Stone Lodge is a fictional 16-room mountain lodge created to demonstrate our method. It is not a client project.
The problem
"Peaceful mountain lodge with stunning views, hiking trails and a delicious homemade breakfast." Every lodge in the valley says the same thing.
What we studied
Guest reviews, the website and booking listings, the other lodges in the area, and what AI assistants suggest when travelers ask for a slow, authentic mountain stay.
The hidden story
The breakfast honey comes from hives behind the lodge. Guests who ask can visit them with the owner at dawn. It appeared in reviews, never on the website.
Place DNA
Slow, generous, rooted. The feeling guests should leave with: I was part of the place, not just a visitor.
Positioning
For travelers who want to slow down for real: the lodge where mornings have a ritual.
The story
"The honey on your table was made two hundred meters from your bed. Ask Tomas, and he will take you to meet the bees at dawn."
Discovery
Answer-ready facts for questions like "Is there a mountain lodge where guests can visit beehives?", aligned across the website, Booking, Airbnb and Google.
The deliverable
A Story Kit: Place DNA, ideal guests, positioning, the story in three lengths, ready-to-paste copy for every platform, 10 AI-ready FAQs and five next actions.
