The first loaf of the day, and why the whole street lines up for the second
Concept case study by STAY → STORY. Corner Crumb is a fictional neighborhood bakery café created to demonstrate our method. It is not a client project.
The problem
"Cozy bakery café with fresh bread, pastries and great coffee. The perfect place for breakfast." There are a dozen bakeries within walking distance saying exactly this.
What we studied
Customer reviews, Google Maps listings, the neighborhood, the bakeries nearby, and what AI assistants suggest when visitors ask where locals actually buy their bread.
The hidden story
The first loaf out of the oven every morning goes, free, to the man who sweeps the street. Locals know. Visitors never hear about it.
Place DNA
Kind, early, local. The feeling customers should leave with: I found the place the neighborhood actually loves.
Positioning
For people who want the local spot, not the tourist one: the bakery the street wakes up to.
The story
"At five in the morning, the first loaf out of the oven goes to Sami, who sweeps our street. By seven, the whole neighborhood is in line for the second."
Discovery
Answer-ready facts for questions like "Which bakery do locals actually go to in this neighborhood?", aligned across Google Maps, TripAdvisor and delivery apps.
The deliverable
A Story Kit (Table edition): Place DNA, ideal customers, positioning, the story in three lengths, menu story, ready-to-paste copy for every platform, 10 AI-ready FAQs and five next actions.
