Overview & Scope

Every surface, designed from scratch
BidHuddle needed a complete UX/UI design for a new bidding platform - connecting homeowners posting home-improvement projects ("huddles") with contractors bidding to connect with them. The scope covered the full product surface for both audiences, across desktop and mobile.
Role: UX / UI Design
Platforms: Desktop & Mobile
Sides Designed: User & Contractor

The Challenge

No system to inherit, two audiences to serve
BidHuddle was a new product being built from scratch - there was no existing design system, pattern library, or prior UI to reference. Everything had to be established from the client's references and scope alone.
On top of that, the platform needed to work for two distinct audiences, homeowners posting huddles, and contractors bidding on them, kept coherent across both desktop and mobile.
Client-provided references defined tone and rough direction, but structure, hierarchy and interaction patterns had to be designed from first principles, then kept consistent across six core surfaces, two user types, and two screen sizes.

Information Architecture

Sitemap & navigation

Before any screens, the core sections and their relationships were mapped out, categories, page hierarchy, and the primary navigation menu structure.

User flow - creating a huddle

A full wireflow mapped every step and decision point of the huddle-creation journey end to end, before a single screen was styled.

Design System

Colors & typography

A from-scratch visual language: a confident indigo/blue pairing with a yellow highlight for action, paired with Rubik for headings and Open Sans for body text.
