Projektfabrik is an enterprise construction management tool used by contractors and site managers. The existing platform suffered from visual clutter, dense information architecture, and poor task tracking.

My objective was to redesign the entire core experience into a modern, highly scannable, dark-mode-first ecosystem while translating complex Gantt charts and construction workflows into intuitive mobile and desktop UI.

The Problem: Construction timelines involve multi-layered dependencies (e.g., Haus 1 → Wohnung 1.1 → Rohbau → Trockenbau). Fitting detailed Gantt timelines, task durations, and multi-step modal workflows onto responsive desktop/tablet layouts was cluttered and overwhelming.

Design Solution: ⚬ Clean, color-coded status timelines (e.g., Mint green for high-priority/active phases) with nested row groupings. ⚬ Step-by-step multi-stage creation modals ("Tasks: 1/2") to reduce cognitive load during complex task setups. ⚬ Custom filter tagging system to quickly highlight specific groups like Badezimmer or Keller.

The Problem: Site managers needed to view urgent delays, weather updates, and task lists on mobile screens under high-stress field conditions.

Design Solution: ⚬ Card-Based Dashboard: Segmented content into clear visual blocks, Delayed Subcontractors, Delayed Craft, and prioritized task streams. ⚬ Status & Urgency Micro-UI: High-contrast tags (Urgent, Waiting for site manager, Due in X days) and visual sub-metrics to allow 3-second status scans on-site. ⚬ Contextual Weather Integration: Built an integrated live weather module directly into the daily Construction Diary screen.

The Problem: Designing high-contrast interfaces that retain clear hierarchy across both deep dark mode (for field/mobile use) and clean light mode platforms.

Design Solution: ⚬ Unified color tokens using vivid accent highlights (electric teal, vibrant orange for warnings, soft dark grays for depth) to maintain WCAG accessibility. ⚬ Standardized key components across Mobile and Desktop Web for a cohesive multi-device experience.

At-a-Glance Dashboard: Custom KPI metrics, task countdowns, and quick-filter bar.

Interactive Construction Diary: Integrated real-time weather trackers, image attachments, and site notes.

Desktop Gantt Planner: Expandable task trees, drag-and-drop progress timelines, and bulk conversion tools.

Flexible Task Filter System: Overlay modal allowing instant filtering by custom tags, group locations, or subcontractors.
