Cryptocurrency users in Nigeria face delays and fraud risks when converting digital assets to local currency through P2P platforms. Reports from different sources show that:

$ 1.7B has been lost by users to fraud on P2P platforms

There has been a 90% surge in fraudulent activities since 2021.

An average of 15 min is spent in crypto transactions, which causes delay.

To develop this solution, i followed a flexible, non-linear process, relying primarily on market research and user surveys, with a single user interview due to the project's fast pace. To ensure design-driven decisions.

These survey responses provided valuable insights into our users' pain points and desires. They also validated our findings, as users openly acknowledged the challenges of P2P transactions, including delays, fraud, and frustration.

These recurring user challenges validate the problem we identified, highlighting a $30B crypto payment market by 2035. With a projected 50% annual growth in crypto spending, Digitpay is positioned to seize this opportunity.

Digitpay simplifies crypto transactions by enabling users to send crypto directly to their local bank accounts, receive crypto instantly, and convert assets easily, all without the risks and delays of P2P platforms.

Beyond the user interface, I developed a cohesive brand identity, including brand messaging, tone, logo design, and visual direction to establish a strong and consistent presence, ensuring trust, recognition, and differentiation in the market.

I crafted a structured design system with essential components like buttons, input fields, icons, and modals to ensure consistency, scalability, and efficiency across the platform. These components streamline development, enhance user experience, and maintain a cohesive visual identity.

With developers building alongside my design process, we navigated continuous iterations due to time constraints. To streamline development, I incorporated yellow card annotations, created interactive prototypes, and organized screens into structured sections, ensuring clear connections and easy implementation.

We are still in the beta stage and our success began even before launch. We gained:

$20K in seed funding secured in just 7 months of building, from Aya, sponsored by Lisk.

350+ engaged community members across social platforms, excited about our vision.

This project reinforced in me the importance and need of making informed design decisions as a designer, even under tight time constraints. It wasn’t just about creating an appealing design but about building a solution that truly addresses users' daily challenges and we’re on the right path.
