#MOBzine, a community fanzine

Bringing people together through art and design.

When the pandemic hit, the Makers of Barcelona coworking family found ourselves suddenly physically separated for the first time since 2011. As freelancers who'd always been digitally connected but thrived on our shared space, we were feeling the weight of isolation and we knew we weren't alone in that feeling.

Accepting limitations as a challenge

Instead of letting distance disconnect us, we decided to transform our collective vulnerability into something tangible and honest. Together, we created #MOBzine: a community fanzine where we could share our real experiences, creative responses, and the messy, honest feelings that came with isolated work. It became our way of staying connected through art and storytelling when we needed it most.
Sample pages from the fanzine publication.
Through collaborative editorial design and authentic storytelling, we created something we could all own and feel proud of. The result?
✔️ A tangible connection during isolation ✔️ Community voices amplified through design ✔️ Collaborative layout and editorial design ✔️ Authentic storytelling that resonated ✔️ A publication that strengthened bonds when we needed them most
#MOBzine proved that thoughtful design can bridge distance and transform vulnerability into creative expression.
