The Brief

Rainlily (ACSVAW) approached us to animate a survivor’s journey—navigating the weight of trauma, the anxieties of the legal system, and the choice to seek alternative paths to healing.
Working with the Rainlily team was an exercise in empathy. Their patience and warmth completely shaped our approach, and collaborating with Joyce on the animation was a gift; her innate kindness is baked right into the visual DNA of this piece.

The Motion

We use color theory as the primary emotional driver. The palette undergoes a calculated chromatic shift—moving from an isolated blue of trauma into a warm, pinkish spectrum as the character heals with Rainlily. Transitions remain fluid and deliberate, avoiding visual clichés to give the voiceover room to breathe. As isolation turns to collective strength, the assets shift from single, detached elements into interconnected layouts.

Post-Mortem

Through this project, we grew as much in social awareness as we did in our creative execution. Understanding the delicate balance survivors face—seeking justice without triggering further hurt—demanded a highly disciplined approach to visual storytelling.
Naturally, the moment you hit render, you see twenty tiny keyframes and easing curves you want to tweak (the classic post-project curse). But looking back, we’re incredibly proud to have lent our craft to a narrative that carries this much weight.
