Colleen Lappe Jewelry is a Pittsburgh-based fine jeweler creating handmade pieces with recycled gold and ethically sourced gemstones. She needed a website that felt like walking into a luxury jewelry store: clean, elevated, and easy to navigate for her clientele, which skews older and values clarity over flash.

I built the site from scratch in Squarespace, starting with a template and fully customizing it to match the brand's refined aesthetic. The homepage features a product carousel showcasing her collection, the shop is organized by category (rings, necklaces, earrings) with high-quality imagery throughout, and a dedicated custom jewelry page guides clients through the bespoke process.

Key decisions were driven by accessibility and readability. Typography is clean and generously sized, navigation is intuitive, and the layout gives the product photography room to breathe. Every product image on the site was edited in Photoshop to ensure consistent lighting, accurate color, and a polished, cohesive look across 33+ pieces.

Created a custom wordmark logo in Adobe Illustrator for Colleen Lappe Jewelry. I manipulated the letterforms to give the mark a refined, elegant feel while keeping readability as the top priority. The client's audience skews older, so legibility at every size was a key constraint. The result is a clean serif wordmark with generous spacing and clear letterforms that works across her website, packaging, jewelry tags, and social media without sacrificing sophistication.
