I created a patient handbook for people preparing for knee replacement surgery. The goal was to give patients a clear, approachable overview of the process so they know what to expect before, during, and after their procedure. I started with an illustration of the knee replacement device and then created the book design around the illustration.

I illustrated a detailed prosthetic knee replacement device in Adobe Illustrator. I wanted the illustration to be as realistic as possible so I used gradients and made sure I used realistic colors.

Using the illustration as the centerpiece, I designed and laid out the full patient handbook in InDesign. The book walks readers through the surgery process with clear typography, structured sections, and visuals that support comprehension. Since the audience is patients (not doctors), readability and a calm, reassuring tone drove every layout decision.
