AFRITANA MOBILE APP AND ADMINISTRATIVE PORTAL DESIGN

Platforms: Mobile App (Buyer + Seller) + Admin Web Console (Trust & Safety) Scope: UX + UI + Design System + Prototypes

The Problem

Cross-border commerce between Africa and diaspora buyers often breaks down because of:
Low trust: buyers fear scams, fake products, and poor quality
Shipping confusion: unclear delivery method, cost, timing, and tracking
Payment risk: sellers fear chargebacks; buyers fear losing money
Operational friction: verification and disputes get messy without strong admin tooling

Design Goals

Make Afritana feel safe by default (trust visible everywhere)
Make shipping decisions simple and explicit (no hidden complexity)
Keep seller onboarding fast but strict (KYC + limited mode)
Make orders/disputes self-serve to reduce support burden
Build a system that scales: reusable components + admin triage tools

Approach (How we designed it)

1) Flow-first UX (clarity before visuals)

We mapped the marketplace into 8 MVP flows (A–H) and designed each around one “job to be done”:
Buyers: discover → trust → checkout → track → confirm/dispute
Sellers: verify → list → manage → receive escrow release
Admins: triage → review → decide → monitor health
