Speaking in Parliament, Dr. Arambepola said, “We implemented this project in 2021. Although Sri Lanka tried for many years to send nurses to Singapore, it did not succeed as we could not provide nurses who match with standards of Singapore. This project we implemented in 2021 was not easy. We had to train the nurses, to hold workshops for them, to train them to face interviews. There were several rounds of discussions between the two countries as well. However, we were able to make the project a success. Singapore is recruiting the first batch of nurses from
Sri Lanka now.”
