‎Fitness: Workout for Gym|Home

Is a multi-fitness service designed for self-guided workouts, both at home and at the gym. We've developed it to cater to different fitness levels and various fitness goals.

Business Goal

We aim to create a competitive fitness application that can top the market rankings and combine the functionality of other similar services, reducing the need for users to use multiple apps.

My Role

Within this project, I took on the role as a Senior UX/UI Product Designer, responsible for developing an entirely new design system. My work involved collaborating with the product owner and developers to find optimal design solutions for the product. Additionally, I supervised a Junior UX/UI Designer, ensuring design consistency and quality throughout the project.

App Issue

The initial release of the mobile application in 2017 was developed on a limited 1C platform by a former professional bodybuilder who lacked experience in software development. Unfortunately, it did not lead to the expected conversion results.
However, the product had a well-defined business strategy, including a target audience, and great potential. Yet, it was ill-prepared for a large user base, as the platform had severe limitations. The visual content and user interface raised numerous user questions.
This is where I entered the project.
Collaborating with the developer and product owner, we decided to:
Conduct custom UX testing with representatives of the target audience.
Analyze the results and devise recommendations for improvements.
Address evident interface issues.

Improvement Process

After analyzing user feedback and conducting comprehensive market research, we decided to implement further enhancements to the application. Our main objective was to streamline the user experience and integrate HTML components based on the 1C platform.
With positive user feedback, our team made the decision to transition to native development.
Starting in early 2021, we began the transition of the application to SWIFT. A complete redesign and code development took approximately 9 months of teamwork. We conducted a thorough audit of the application, enhanced its functionality, and introduced significant changes both in terms of functionality and in design and visual content.

Results

These changes significantly improved the application's performance, enriched user interactions, and boosted conversion rates:
The app currently holds a 4.7 rating on the App Store.
It has received over 15,000 five-star ratings.
Sales have seen a 73% increase in 2022 compared to 2021.
The app is no longer limited to bodybuilding and the gym; it now offers full-fledged home workouts and crossfit.
Full support for smartwatches is now available.
